Job Description

Under the direction of healthcare professionals, the Youth Apprentice – Laboratory will assist laboratory care team members as directed. Duties may include customer service, accessioning, and pre-analytic specimen preparation.

Responsibilities

• Perform customer service, accessioning, and pre-analytic specimen preparation.

Education and Experience

• Currently enrolled in high school as a rising junior or senior, or a high school diploma is required.
• Must be dually enrolled in Midlands Technical College (or Trident Technical College) and continue participation in the associated Youth Apprenticeship Program.
• Complete the Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate program through the respective college to function as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant.
