Summary The Wilmington VA Medical Center is recruiting to fill a the Medical Instrument Technician [(MIT) Hemodialysis Technician]. The MIT assigned to the Hemodialysis Unit, which is organizationally responsible to the Nursing Service. Hemodialysis MIT at this level operates and monitors dialysis systems for stable, chronic patients. Responsibilities Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties of the Medical Instrument Technician [(MIT) Hemodialysis Technician include, but are not limited to: GS-06: Consistently performs and interprets test results for dialysate chemistries and water treatment systems for both main and portable units. Promptly reports all deviations to nurse manager, charge nurse/team leader and biomedical engineering. Performs routine cannulation on chronic dialysis patients with established grafts and fistulas assuring that patient pre-dialysis observations and safety checks have been done and recorded.
