About the Role
Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer will support Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) projects for operating nuclear power plants seeking operation up to 80 years. The engineer will be responsible for aging management reviews, system evaluations, regulatory documentation, and development of Aging Management Programs (AMPs) in accordance with NRC requirements (10 CFR 54) and industry guidance.
This position requires strong technical evaluation skills, regulatory understanding, and the ability to develop licensing basis documentation supporting safe long-term plant operation.
Day to Day/Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Technical Evaluation
• Perform Aging Management Reviews (AMRs) for mechanical systems and components
• Evaluate degradation mechanisms, including:
○ Fatigue, thermal aging, corrosion, FAC, SCC, erosion, and wear
• Identify and evaluate Time‑Limited Aging Analyses (TLAAs)
• Review design basis documents and plant operating hist...
