Overview

Locum Consultant in the department Ophthalmology. A 10PA locum appointment for a Consultant in Ophthalmology with special interests in Medical Retina and Uveitis. Available from July 2026 for 6 months, based at St James.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of specialist Medical Retina and Uveitis services within a busy tertiary ophthalmology department.
  • Run outpatient clinics, assess and manage patients with complex retinal and inflammatory eye disease.
  • Contribute to treatment pathways including intravitreal therapy and multidisciplinary care.
  • Maintain timely patient access to specialist clinics and manage a high-volume outpatient caseload.
  • Support safe and effective patient flow through clinics and treatment services.
  • Work collaboratively with specialty doctors, fellows, optometrists, specialist nurses, orthoptists and imaging teams.
