Responsibilities

• Manage the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment.
• Train, develop, and evaluate hourly team members; participate in forming highly effective teams.
• Lead Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes; serve as a resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas.
• Meet or exceed production cost schedules and maintain quality requirements.
• Maintain awareness of quality standards; communicate department quality goals; leverage resources to solve quality issues.
• Build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union and management.
• Understand and administer national and local agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union.
• Implement and follow systems that prevent recurrence of known issues.
