Licensing Enforcement Officer

An exciting opportunity has become available to join Regulatory Services in West Northamptonshire Council. Based within Regulatory Services you will be working as part of a team responsible for enforcing a wide and varied range of licensing legislation, including the processing of applications made under the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, Local Government (miscellaneous provisions) Act 1976 & 1982, Animal Welfare Act 2018, Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 and where required to do so, arrange hearings, produce legal hearing notices and reports. You will determine licence applications, advise businesses, investigate complaints, and take enforcement action where appropriate. You will partner with external stakeholders, including Northamptonshire Police and Regulatory partners. You will attend committee hearings, assess vehicles, work with vets to assess animal welfare, and attend court for appeals and prosecutions.
