Learning Support Assistant (Sakina)

Key Responsibilities

• Support the student's learning, in and out of the classroom, including breaktimes and after-school activities as needed.
• Requires 1:1 support to access curriculum and school environment.
• Be familiar with the student's IEP and its objectives.
• Liaise with teachers, key workers, and other professionals (e.g. speech and language therapists) as required.
• Help the student develop independence, communication skills, and confidence.
• Identify barriers to learning and support access to the curriculum.
• Support reading, written work, and completion of set tasks.
• Assist with social integration, group work, and wider school life (clubs, activities, trips).
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reports and review meetings.
• Comply with all relevant policies, including Child Protection, Health & Safety, and Confidentiality.
