Kaitohutohu - Wāteatanga | Advisor - Accessibility

This is a fixed-term opportunity through to April 2027, covering a secondment. The role can be based in Wellington, Auckland, or Christchurch.

As Kaitohutohu - Wāteatanga | Advisor- Accessibility at Tatauranga Aotearoa | Stats NZ, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting accessibility for disabled people across Aotearoa New Zealand. Working within the Specialist Data Capability Team, you’ll collaborate closely with Accessibility Advisors, engagement specialists, and survey delivery teams, with support from the Unit Manager‑Specialist Data Capability.

You’ll build strong, trusted relationships across the organisation, partnering with groups such as the Accessibility Working Group and the Diversity & Inclusion Working Group. Your influence will span major initiatives including the Census, the Household Disability Survey, and Census statistical releases – helping embed accessibility from design through to delivery.
