About the Role
Summary You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY - PHYSICAL SCIENTIST / METEOROLOGIST / OCEANOGRAPHER in the Geospatial Analysis and Support Division, Warfighting Support Center, Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS. Responsibilities You will utilize geospatial technologies, imagery collection methods, and scientific principles to develop new capabilities to support internal and external requirements. You will conduct shipboard surveys as stated in applicable instructions. You will be responsible for the scientific and technical evaluation, correlation, data fusion and presentation of complex meteorological and oceanographic datasets in response to customer requests. You will design, implement, and document focused Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analysis methodologies, automated workflows and mapping solutions, including database design and customized toolsets to increase departmental productivity.
