Overview

Ward 31 is a 23‑bedded, dedicated fracture neck of femur ward and the only ward of its kind in Scotland. It is a busy and forward‑thinking ward within a diverse directorate, working collaboratively across the Orthopaedic Department. Our patient population is predominantly frail and elderly, with many patients experiencing delirium, dementia and a range of acute medical conditions alongside complex orthopaedic needs. Maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment is essential to supporting high quality, compassionate and person‑centred care. The Ward Housekeeper plays a vital role within the ward team, supporting patient care through high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and control, meal service support and stock management.
