About the Role

The function

plays an important role in determining the artistic and productional parameters of individual productions. This process requires an advanced oversight of the complex dynamics behind opera planning. As part of this process, the head of artistic planning is in close contact with departments such as Artistic Affairs, Chorus Management, Production Management, Business Management, (Inter)national Collaborations and Dramaturgy.

As head of the department, the HAP manages capacity for the artistic planners, who are responsible for the planning and coordination of mainstage productions and other programing, such as productions in Studio Boekman (our second stage), Opera Studio productions and major events. Furthermore, the department is responsible for supporting activities such as artist housing and auditions. The responsibility for negotiation of contracts of creative teams is currently under consideration.
