About the Role
Requirements: A Bachelors Degree or National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field. Valid SAMTRAC or NOSA certification (advantageous). Experience: 45 years hands-on experience as a Health and Safety Officer, preferably in both Forestry and Mining environments. Strong understanding of safety protocols in high-risk, remote, or environmentally sensitive work sites. Proven experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, audits, and implementing corrective actions. Key Skills & Competencies: Excellent knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and other relevant South African HSE legislation. Ability to compile and implement Health and Safety Plans, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments. Strong communication and training skills to conduct toolbox talks and safety inductions.
