Financial Counselor - Part Time, Evenings - Mineola

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Financial Counselor - Part Time, Evenings - Mineola.

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for assisting patients, regardless of insurance coverage or type, with understanding and meeting their financial obligations to NYUMC. Evaluates patients' financial status and coordinates with physician offices to ascertain patients' medical needs in order to determine eligibility for hospital-based assistance such as alternate payment arrangements and charity care.

Job Responsibilities:

Promotes the quality and effectiveness of financial counseling services. Interviews discharged patients who are unable to pay their bills. Reviews applications for completeness and eligibility for specific programs Maintains data and prepares reports related to the outcome of financial counseling activities and decisions.
