POSITION SUMMARY: The Financial Counselor is one who works directly with patients who may or may not be deemed indigent, and, due to this status, may be eligible for various financial assistance options offered through the St. Joseph’s Hospital network. Those options include, seeking Medicaid for ALC placement though the DSS Chronic Care Unit, seeking Medicaid for non ALC patients through the DSS Medicaid Unit, seeking Financial Aid (Charity Care) though the FA application process, securing payment plans, and assist in the enrollment process as well as follow-up with those patients who are seeking Family Health Plus or Child Health Plus with the assistance of contracted payor facilitated enrollers. EDUCATION, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: Bachelors or AAS degree is a plus. High school graduate a must with at least 2 to 3 years progressive experience in the field.
