General Information:

  • The Nurse Extern II program is a collaboration between Baptist
    Health Lexington (BHLex) and accredited nursing
    programs. The school will have oversight of the practicum hours
    set up at the beginning of the semester and BHLex will have
    oversight of the NE II program.
  • The program offers additional clinical practice experience to
    qualified nursing students to enhance their preparation as
    future licensed nurses.
  • The is to have a continuity of unit and preceptor for the
    entire time at BHLex.
  • It is anticipated that,, participating students will
    transition into a full-time staff nursing position after graduating and obtaining a provisional nursing license.
