Executive Engineer Substation Automation Systems – Pakistan, Karachi

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, configuration, and testing of SAS components including Bay Control Units (BCUs), IEDs, RTUs, HMI, and SCADA interfaces.
• Perform field signal testing, GOOSE messaging checks, and inter-device communication validation over IEC 61850.
• Verify correct operation of interlocking logics, command signals, and real‑time monitoring via HMI/SCC.
• Troubleshoot communication issues on Ethernet, serial, and fiber‑optic networks (managed switches, routers and firewalls).
• Support system integration with control centres via IEC‑101/104, Modbus, DNP3 protocols.
• Prepare and maintain field documentation including signal lists, test reports, and configuration backups.
• Coordinate with system engineers, protection teams, and client representatives during shutdowns and commissioning.
• Ensure site compliance with electrical safety practices and quality control standards.
