About the Role
Position Summary
: This course will deepen an understanding of current theory and practice related to mathematics education across the primary/junior grades (K to 6), with a lens of equitable and inclusive teaching practice. The focus will be on extending understandings of mathematics teaching through long-range planning (e.g., backwards design and spiraling), assessment, the Ontario mathematics curriculum, and inquiry-based, inclusive teaching pedagogies. This course will consolidate mathematical knowledge through exploring learning trajectories in topics relating to Data, Spatial Sense, and Financial Literacy to build connections of research-based teaching practices in mathematics.Successful candidate will work with the course lead and/or team in order to provide consistency across sections.
