Electrical design engineer

Location: Wadeville / Heidelberg, Gauteng

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their transformer division. The successful candidate will be responsible for the electrical design of new and repair transformers up to 50 MVA and 170 k V, ensuring designs meet customer specifications, industry standards, and manufacturing requirements.

Duties include: Perform electrical design calculations for distribution, industrial, miniature substation, and power transformers. Conduct strip and quote assessments, inspections, and failure investigations on transformers and miniature substations. Develop cost‑effective transformer designs while considering available materials, manufacturing processes, and customer requirements. Analyse, interpret, and maintain electrical design databases.
