Educational Interpreter - Christchurch Enrolled School Provisions

THE ROLE / TE MAHI

We are seeking a permanent, fulltime Educational Interpreter to work with and support our learners and teaching team across our Enrolled School Provisions in Hillmorton, Wharenui and Hagley. The successful applicant will be required to interpret and translate in and around the educational setting ensuring that the student/s are able to understand, fully participate and achieve. Ability to adapt to the style of teaching as well as the needs and language level of the learner is essential to this role.

ABOUT YOU / MŌ KOE

Prerequisites to be successful in this role are:

• Approved qualifications in New Zealand Sign Language and interpreter training
• Previous experience working in educational settings, sign language resource development and translation services, would be preferred, but is not essential
