Doctoral Researcher, Cell and Molecular Biology , University of Jyväskylä

Fixed‑term position (maximum 3.5 years) beginning , with a six‑month trial period.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experimental work with microbial and cell cultures and possibly in experimental animal models to investigate nature‑based bioactive molecules and the molecular mediators of health benefits of exercise.
• Assist teaching tasks and other related duties.
• Carry out research activities aimed at the completion of a doctoral thesis.
• Pursue interdisciplinary collaboration with the Faculties of Mathematics and Science and Sport and Health Sciences.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in cell and molecular biology.
• Familiarity with microbiology, bioinformatics and/or physiology.
• Understanding of metabolism or cardiovascular diseases is preferable but not essential.
