About the Role
Become the Rights & Title Director for Ulkatcho First Nation in Anahim Lake, BC, and lead essential legal and governance initiatives. Support the Ulkatcho’ten community by advancing their rights and title interests.
In this pivotal one-year contract role, the Director will report directly to UFN's Chief Governance Officer. This leadership position requires deep expertise in Indigenous governance and law, focusing on re-establishing language and title responsibilities within the community. The successful candidate will develop comprehensive strategies and work cross-departmentally to enhance Ulkatcho’ten sovereignty.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive Rights & Title Strategy
• Provide expert analysis and policy guidance to UFN administration
• Lead negotiations to enhance Ulkatcho’ten sovereignty
• Uphold commitments and principles in UNDRIP and UFN Strategic Plan
• Develop reports on use and occupancy of ancestral lands
