Responsibilities

• Design and validate silicon photonics chips for high-speed optical transmitters and receivers, balancing performance, cost, and reliability requirements.
• Define photonic integrated circuit layouts (GDS) and collaborate with wafer fabrication partners on design verification, production, and delivery.
• Lead and contribute to photonic circuit design reviews prior to release to manufacturing.
• Support module prototyping, test definition, and transfer of designs to high-volume production in partnership with operations and manufacturing teams.
• Drive continuous improvements in performance, yield, and reliability across the full product life cycle.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver prototypes and production products based on Ciena’s silicon photonics platform.
