General Work Description

Duties include, but are not limited to, making arrests, forcibly if necessary, using handcuffs and other restraints and/or self‑defense weapons when people are breaking the law, preparing investigative reports with proper grammar, exercising independent judgment, operating a law‑enforcement vehicle day and night in emergency situations and in situations caused by traffic, road conditions, weather, etc., communicating effectively and coherently over law‑enforcement radio channels, conducting interviews, obtaining statements of victims, witnesses and suspects, pursuing fleeing suspects and performing rescue operations, possessing the ability to load, unload and fire handguns and shotguns under stress that justifies the use of deadly force and at levels of proficiency prescribed in certification standards.
