Clinical Duties (Chairside Assistance/ Front Desk)

• Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures (sterilize and arrange instruments, set up materials).
• Assist the dentist during procedures by handing instruments, operating suction devices, and retracting patients' cheeks or tongue.
• Mix dental materials such as impression compounds, cements, or fillings.
• Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs).
• Maintain infection control by following sterilization and disinfection protocols.
• Record patient treatment information in charts or computer systems.
• Provide postoperative instructions to patients as directed by the dentist.
• Apply topical anesthetics or fluoride treatments (in some states/countries where permitted).
