Decontamination Technician HSDU

An exciting full‑time opportunity has become available within the Decontamination Hub on the Royal Blackburn Hospital site. We are looking for someone that enjoys working within a busy day‑to‑day environment and likes to work as part of a team.

Decontamination technicians are required to work within the Hospital Decontamination Hub, comprising the Hospital Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit (HSDU), Endoscopy Decontamination and the Laundry Department. You will be responsible for providing sterile surgical instruments, scopes, surgical supplies and clean laundry and linen for the Trust’s wards, departments and operating theatres.

Main duties of the job

The department has a Quality Management System, work procedures and standard procedures. All work takes place to a high standard, quickly and accurately to meet the demands of operating theatres, wards and departments.

Work takes place individually and as part of a team.
