Computer Assistant (OA)

Summary The position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs at the Northern California Health Care System, Mather, CA in the Nursing Service Line. The incumbent is primarily responsible for providing technical computer support to all of Nursing Service, which includes trouble shooting of software and hardware and instruction on the use of software and hardware. Responsibilities Provides technical assistance to functional users to minimize operational disruptions for the customer. Serving as the first-line of automation support, receives help requests from functional users and maintains log. Independently troubleshoots computer problems determining the nature of customer's problem(s); conducting research; providing answers; and/or determining solutions to technical questions relating to suspected hardware, software, or network failures.
