About the role
The Compliance & Resolutions Officer is an integral role within Te Tari Pūreke – New Zealand's Firearms Regulator. The officer will support regulatory compliance and deliver a high‑quality service to the public. This position is based in Palmerston North and is rotational, allowing the officer to develop expertise across the teams that form Te Tari Pūreke.
Key Accountabilities
- Assess licence applications, permits and endorsements.
- Ensure licence holders understand their responsibilities through education and intervention to improve compliance.
- Apply improvement notices, prescribed conditions, warning letters, temporary suspensions, revocations and refusals as appropriate.
- Provide accurate information and recommendations to support regulatory decisions.
