About the Role

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Responsible for the safe/efficient operation and maintenance of all machinery and electrical equipment onboard vessel operating in Singapore waters and in International waters. Supervision of all Engineering Officers and Engine Ratings (via the Second Engineer). Adhering to budgets and purchasing procedures of the Company. The safeguarding of the Owners' and Company's interests at all times.

Vessels Cargo System Specific Responsibility

The Chief Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all the ship's Cargo and Ballast related equipment. He is to assist the Chief Officer in the operation of the ship's cargo equipment, keep the Chief Officer advised of any bunker, lubricating oils or sludge transfers which may affect the ship's trim, stress and/or stability.
