Position Summary

The Cashier is responsible for processing real estate and mobile home tax payments received in person, by mail, and through online payment systems. This position performs daily cash handling, payment processing, account balancing, and customer service functions while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with county procedures. The Cashier also provides clerical support to the Treasurer's Office and assists with departmental operations during peak tax collection periods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive, process, and post real estate and mobile home tax payments using the DEVNET system.
  • Balance daily cash drawers and reconcile receipts, checks, and cash transactions.
  • Prepare and verify daily bank deposits and related documentation.
  • Process and prepare refund transactions as required.
