Duties and Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, such as wooden boards or beams.
• Construct frames for windows and doorways using a range of materials such as timber or metal.
• Fit windows, doors, skirting boards, architraves or staircases into the required structure.
• Cut and shape pieces of wood according to measurements or templates provided.
• Install fixtures such as handles, knobs or locks onto furniture pieces or structures.
• Finish structures or furniture by sanding them down with sandpaper or other tools.
• Repair existing structures or furniture that have been damaged by wear and tear over time.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet required standards before they reach clients.
