Associate Attorney

Baker Sterchi Cowden & Rice LLC, a litigation defense firm with over 200 employees, has an opportunity for an associate attorney with 2 – 5 years of experience and a strong interest in litigation defense.

Candidates must be licensed in Missouri, have excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage file throughout litigation process independently and as a part of the team.
• Conduct fact investigations.
• Handle document productions and other discovery tasks.
• Prepare witnesses for deposition.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Prepare pleadings, briefs, and motions.
• Review and analyze policies, contracts, and other legal documents.
• Court hearing preparation and attendance.
• Trial preparation and attendance.
