Position Summary

The Assistant Principal of Instruction serves as the school’s lead instructional manager and is responsible for building and maintaining a strong culture of instructional coaching, teacher development, and academic excellence. This role exists to ensure that every teacher receives meaningful coaching, actionable feedback, and ongoing support that leads to measurable student growth and stronger instructional practice.

The AP of Instruction directly develops instructional coaches while also supporting teachers through observations, walkthroughs, instructional planning, and data-driven coaching cycles. This role is highly visible, student-centered, and classroom-based. The AP of Instruction is expected to spend the majority of the day on the floor in classrooms coaching teachers, calibrating instruction, modeling best practices, facilitating planning conversations, and supporting implementation in real time.
