Advanced Practice Nurse - Primary Care

Summary Qualified applicants will be considered and referred until the closing of the announcement. This position is located at the Royal C Johnson VA Health Care System in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Responsibilities Reviews consults, completes patient history, examination, diagnosis, treatment and education for new and follow up patient visits. Documents in SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan) format, respond to Clinical Reminders, and order appropriate lab tests and studies by Provider Order Entry. Responsible for interpreting as appropriate and the implementation of results & recommendations from studies ordered. Initiates and adjusts medications as medically necessary, practices & maintains skills in EKG, and recommends appropriate follow up. Completes electronic encounter for each visit and conducts telephone clinics and responds to patient phone calls as appropriate.
