General Definition of Work

The AEMT responds to emergency and nonemergency medical calls and provides limited advanced-level life support to patients in the pre-hospital setting. Work involves operating a mobile medical unit as an attendant or driver, performing necessary rescue work in accordance with established protocols for limited advanced life support; assessing scene for safety; evaluating conditions of patients, gathering pertinent information, including patient's medications, allergies, medical history, etc., and determining proper treatment; administering necessary emergency medical care, monitoring vi...
