Description: Job Description Summary: An Adjunct Instructor is a temporaryfaculty member in an academic department who is responsible forguiding the learning of students in classrooms and/or clinicalsettings. A faculty member is assigned to teach the course forwhich they are qualified by education, certification andprofessional experience. Instructional duties include planningcourses and curricula, didactic and clinical teaching andevaluating courses. Related duties may include academic advising ofstudents, supervision of independent study projects, maintainingweekly office hours, attending meetings, serving on committees andparticipation in special University events and ceremonies. Facultyat the rank of adjunct instructor are expected to engage inscholarship as defined in the Faculty/Staff Handbook and to beactively engaged in professional activities, which enhance thefaculty role.
