About the Role

As aDiesel Mechanic with Waste Connections, your primary responsibility is to keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently. Key duties include:

  • Performing preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel trucks and heavy equipment
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
  • Utilizing vehicle computer diagnostic systems to identify failures and program engine and vehicle control modules
  • Responding to road calls and emergency repairs as needed
  • Reviewing, completing, or assigning repairs based on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs)
  • Completing maintenance documentation using fleet maintenance software
  • Test driving vehicles before and after repairs to ensure proper operation
  • Supporting team members with repairs and troubleshooting when needed
